Good for Xbox 360 multiplayer mode?

Um, if you're bored, help me! I have not really ever been a gamer and I'm not familiar with any video game. But my boyfriend and I are getting an Xbox 360 to our new apartment and want to play with him! Please recommend a video game (s) for me to play with him with a multiplayer mode. I prefer the multiplayer mode does not have the "split screen" on the fly, but I do not care much. I do not know what The other type is called, but is that both characters share the same screen. I do not like realistic war games. The only video games I've played really Bauld Door Dark Alliance Final Fantasy X, which I liked. I like any kind of fantasy themes much, but not limited to that.
